Operational Protocol: OPM
2+
=========================
3+
4+
There are three ways to coregister with OPM:
5+
6+
way 1: laser scan the participants head and stylus points, then place participant in helmet, then laser scan the fiducials on the face again, followed by the 8 points on the OPM
7+
(Check if the laser scanner would work with the OPM 8 points) (this way assumes that the participant is not moving their head within the OPM helmet)
8+
9+
way 2: laser scan the participant head and stylus points, then place the participant in helmet, then place HPI coils on known stylus points (must standardize those locations).
10+
In this case, a script must be ran at beginning and end of the experiment to energize the coils with sinusoidal waves of known frequencies (follow up with fieldtrip tutorial section 2)
11+
12+
way 3: laser scan the participant, mark fiducials, then place participant in helmet, laser scan everything, mark fiducials
13+
Coregister both set of fiducials

Training to become an MEG authorized operator
2+
=============================================
3+
4+
A project owner can be trained by the MEG lab scientists to become an authorized operator.
5+
Over the course of a day, they will be taught about the operation protocol described above, the emergency procedures to perform, the safety rules to folow and any
6+
operation that must be done in the lab prior/post data acquisition.
7+
8+
Once the training is performed, the following form should be submitted to the MEG lab scientists.

The following documents need to be signed by the participant prior to the study:
21+
22+
- Consent to participate in a research study
23+
24+
Every project owner must have an IRB for his study approved before getting participants to do their experiment
25+
26+
- IRB approval for project owner

Participant recruitment
30+
=======================
31+
32+
- Prior to arrival, participant is assumed to have no implants, no retainer, no pace-maker, no large-sized-tattoos

All experiments that uses the Vpixx pixel mode should follow these rules:

- Once the experiment script is run, the experiment should land on an `Introduction page` that can only be skipped by the project owner

- Prior to landing on the `Introduction page` within your script, you should deactivate the Vpixx Pixel Mode, otherwise there could be false trigger events in the data recording
