A role and a foaf:Person should be related through the vivo:relates property.

Roles inhere (ro:RO_0000052) in the persons who bear them. vivo:relates is intended only for vivo:Relationships (and really should have vivo:Relationship as its explicit domain, though it appears that this axiom is missing from the public VIVO OWL file).
