[Question] RTC 100us

Hello,

I working on posting SWL2001 library to an Infineon microcontroller. However, its RTC has seconds resolución like so many others microcontrollers.

Is it mandatory the 100us resolution RTC?
Is there any alternative to use a 1s resolution RTC? Like using timer for microseconds or using an external RTC if available?
What would involve using a 1s resolution RTC?

Hi RPadial,

The 100us resolution RTC was used for class B, but was removed (we will update the porting guide in the next release).
The 1ms resolution RTC is mandatory to timestamp correclty the LoRaWAN Rx windows.

Could smtc_modem_hal_get_time_in_ms function be implemented with a dedicated timer along with RTC? The RTC would give the seconds count and timer would add the milliseconds from mcu startup. The Porting guide specifies that it must "Provide the time since startup, in milliseconds". Thank you in advance.

Best way is to maintain a counter in ms from startup.
