SimDeck Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 28, 2026

SimDeck is built to connect your iPhone or iPad to a SimDeck server that you choose. We do not sell, rent, share, or monetize personal data.

Data We Collect

SimDeck may collect first-party pseudonymous product telemetry to understand whether core workflows are reliable. Examples include app launched, server paired, server connected, simulator boot requested, simulator booted, stream connected, feature toggled, and coarse error or latency diagnostics.

Telemetry does not include server addresses, pairing tokens, simulator identifiers, simulator names, device names, IP-derived location, Tailscale node names, Apple IDs, email addresses, LAN hostnames, source code, project names, file paths, payloads, or user-entered text.

Telemetry uses a random app-generated identifier. SimDeck does not use the device advertising identifier, does not use analytics profiles, and does not use analytics for ads, marketing attribution, data broker sharing, cross-app tracking, or session replay. You can disable telemetry in the app's Settings screen.

Local Data

The app may store server addresses, pairing tokens, and connection preferences on your device so you can reconnect to your own SimDeck server. This information stays on your device and is not sent to us.

Connections To Your SimDeck Server

When you connect to a SimDeck server, the app sends requests, pairing credentials, simulator controls, and stream negotiation data only to the server you selected or paired with. We do not operate an intermediate service that receives this data.

Your SimDeck server may process simulator sessions, device lists, live streams, and control commands as part of the app's core functionality. That activity remains between your device and the server you choose.

Camera, Microphone, And Local Network Access

SimDeck may request camera access to scan pairing QR codes. QR code scanning is used only to configure your connection and is not sent to us.

SimDeck may request local network access to find or connect to your SimDeck server.

If microphone access is requested for WebRTC functionality, audio is used only for the active connection feature and is not collected by us.

Third Parties

SimDeck uses Mixpanel to receive product telemetry described above. We do not send Mixpanel server addresses, pairing credentials, simulator identifiers, simulator names, user-entered text, project data, or source code.

Children's Privacy

SimDeck does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes To This Policy

If SimDeck's privacy practices change, we will update this policy and revise the "Last updated" date above.
