unable to run any unit tests

I found some issues in the projects and would like to make a PR. However, I figure I'd have to at least run the unit tests before I propose my changes. But if I try to run any tests in Visual Studio 2022, it just finishes without doing anything. Any ideas what needs to be setup for the unit tests to run?
