Float as Numeric?

It seems not possible to use floats with Numerics?

from whoosh.fields import Schema, ID, TEXT, NUMERIC, KEYWORD

product_schema = Schema(
    id=ID(stored=True),
    object=TEXT(stored=True),
    price=NUMERIC(stored=True, numtype=float, sortable=True), <- issue here
)
