Restore files

I accidentally deleted a bunch of system files and other files I didn't want to delete with pearcleaner, is there a way to bring them back from the trash? there is no "put back" button for any of the items

Are you on the latest version 5.4.0? If yes, open Pearcleaner and in the menu bar go to the Edit menu > Delete History. It should let you restore any of the last 10 delete actions you might've done. As long as the folder bundles are still in the Trash as a whole.

I had removed the files from the trash to keep them safe

I would copy the folder bundles Pearcleaner made into the trash if they're not there. Pearcleaner can only check in the Trash to undo deletions.

If you were on the latest version of Pearcleaner when you made those deletions, there's also a history json file at this location which tells you where each file needs to go if you want to manually move them back:

~/Library/Application Support/Pearcleaner

I moved the folder back to trash but it still won't let me restore it and the json is empty (am running pearcleaner v5.4.0 and I was when I deleted the stuff)

I'm guessing the folders got maybe renamed or something during the move out and into trash.

Does the Edit menu > Delete History show the bundles from the trash?

Also, did you check that json file I mentioned?
