I would like to be included in the private preview for this extension!

I’m sorry I must be missing something. In my understanding these instructions are for DevOps organizations in the Microsoft-hosted instance https://dev.azure.com
I have a private, self-hosted instance. Do you know if I can still use your private extension? I can’t find any Microsoft documentation about private extensions + self-hosted instances.

Yes, you can install the extension in your self-hosted instance. There are others in the preview that are doing that already. I need to grant you access to the extension so you can see my private extension. Once you have access, you can download the extension from the marketplace and install like all other extensions.

1. I cloned the repo
2. Increased the version
3. Built the extension
4. Then sent the .vsix file to a colleague who has the necessary permissions, because I don't have them
5. If I understand it correctly, he first uploaded them into the private market place here: https://<url-to-on-prem-azdevops>/_gallery/manage
6. Then browsed the extension in the private marketplace: https://<url-to-on-prem-azdevops>/_gallery/items?itemName=bcook.azdevops-testplan-extension
7. Then clicked on 'Get it free' where he could select the collection it should be installed to and it would end up here afterwards: https://<url-to-on-prem-azdevops>/<collection-name>/_settings/extensions

Darn. I was hoping it was security by obscurity.

I would imagine that folks that have shared their organization can see the extension in the marketplace. It is possible to download it from that page.

For now, I can attach the vsix here. Rename the file by removing the .zip extension.

I do intend to publish the extension in the marketplace, but have had some other work priorities that have diminished my capacity for this pet project.

Until then, I can make the vsix available as a zip on the releases page.

@bryanbcook Unfortunately I cannot test your extension as my company policy does not authorize manual installation for security reasons. I will wait for your extension to be published on the Marketplace.
