Plugin cannot be uninstalled entirely.

I'm not sure whether I should ask this question here or in Eclipse Equinox. Please let me know if I'm in wrong place.

I found that sometime Eclipse cannot uninstall plugin entirely. For example:

In the Installed Software tab, there is no copilot plugin installation:

But in the plug-ins tab, there are still two remaining copilot bundle there:

Is this because some mis-action I took before?

And once in this kind of situation, how to recover my Eclipse - entirely remove the plugin?

The first tab lists "user-visible roots" which are typically are features. The plug-ins tab lists bundles. Maybe something else still depends on these bundles?

If I go to the Committers package and uninstall all the Git-related features

They really are all gone after a restart:

So I don't believe there is a general problem here but maybe something special about your case...

This one installation looks like a mix of an old and new one. I would assume there is more happened as just one install + uninstall.

What do you mean by one install + uninstall

An installation, followed by (most likely incomplete) uninstall, then next installation of a different version.

Is there a way to invalid the list, I assume there must be some kind of metadata persisted that memorizing the installed bundle?

Of course the easiest way is to create a clean installation.

The information is stored in the profile

This information is intended to me modified only by p2's install/update/uninstall operations.

@jdneo : for a clean state I would suggest to follow these steps, which should be always reproducible

1. start with a fresh Eclipse installation, install Copilot,
2. restart
3. let Copilot install "under the hood" matching terminal.api bundle
4. restart again
5. that try to uninstall

The end result for step 5 should be two bundles left - com.microsoft.copilot.eclipse.terminal.api ("installed under the hood" and com.microsoft.copilot.eclipse.core because it is required by the terminal bundle that can't be uninstalled via Copilot feature because later doesn't include it).

Now add com.microsoft.copilot.eclipse.terminal.api to the Copilot feature and try with step 1-2. Step 3 will be not needed and uninstall will result in a clean Eclipse state without any copilot bundle left.
