Importing Picasa face tags

I have an old Picasa photo library -- which for privacy we stopped using when Google insisted we put it online. The photos are easy to move, but I would really like to retrieve those face tags. Is there any way to do that within Ente? I saw Picasa data formats mentioned in other threads, but nothing that really touched on this.

Note: I am a long-time programmer, and complex data analysis and manipulation does not scare me. And If I come up with something, I would be delighted to share it with the community. But before I started, I was hoping to get some notion as to whether it was likely to work.
