Status code 503 in getOAuthAccessTokenFromResponse

I am using the username/password option to get the access token. I regularly (about every tenth page view) receive the 503 Error without any more information. I use the test.salesforce.com login endpoint, but the error also appears with login.salesforce.com.
Any ideas?
