Hi everyone, this is the first issue we're testing BountyHub for:

Through this service, anyone can fund an issue.
At the same time, anyone can earn the money that funded the issue by resolving it through PR.
Funding can be collective, so anyone who wishes can add a share to the issue's funding.
This way, we want to provide an additional opportunity to incentivize the development of the open source project and, at the same time, lend a helping hand to those who wish to contribute and earn money.

This is currently an initial test; feel free to share your thoughts, or if you're interested in developing the issue for a fee, feel free to request more funding from the community.

It might be worth putting some careful consideration into how you structure a bounty program like this; as it works right now, this can lead to people competing in a race to develop a PR, potentially with unfortunately wasted effort. Hi, thank you, I really appreciate your input.
I read the page you reported with interest.
I agree with you, I've noticed some issues while studying the situation on other repos with bounty, and these situations should definitely be avoided.
We can propose a set of rules to avoid or manage certain situations, possibly collaborating with Omar from BountyHub.
Might it be an idea to assign the issue to a candidate chosen by the core team, as has already been done in the first test?

While the nominated candidate is working on it, we can't accept any other proposals.
I'm just thinking, we're happy to listen to suggestions from anyone and work them out together so that if the bounty system continues to be used, it's because everyone is happy with it and it's useful, not the other way around.

@bo0tzz a few months after Ziglang wrote that post, they wrote another post about bounties:

If there is good collaboration among the parties involved, problems can be avoided. ZigLand spends most of its money paying its contributors, which is a good incentive to keep a project actively maintained.
