There's no Homebox app for Android, but the experience of using it really isn't bad.
The UI is nice and responsive:
For scanning objects, just about anything will do. If you're using a standalone scanning app, to save a bit of time, enable the automatic opening of URLs:
The best timesaver I've found is creating a simple launch widget in Chrome:
To do this, navigate to the home of your Homebox instance and then choose 'Add To Home Screen':
I can add media directly through the app but strangely only after first taking the photo (if I try to use the camera directly it complains about memory)
Searching works just fine on Android:
The navigation menu pulls off to the side:
