RSS feed empty if I use the blog template as main page

Hello,
I've used the list.html from the blog layout as my main page (add a layout index.html). But if I do that, there is no rss feed created. The index.xml is there but without any posts entries.
Is that something you could help?

hey how did you set up the site and did you update the hugo.yaml to include rss?

I have this in my Hugo.yaml

outputs:
  home: [html, llms, rss]
  page: [html, rss]
  section: [html, rss]

I try to recreate and remember what i exactly did:

1. create a new site
2. create a blog post unter contant folder. I have a seperate folder per blog post with an index.md file for the text
3. create and _index.md file in content folder

4. under the layouts folder i created a index.html file with the content from the lists.html file (exactly copy and paste) https://github.com/imfing/hextra/blob/main/layouts/blog/list.html
5. Extend the hugo.yaml file with the rss features

6. render the blog

The index.xml file will be created and updated if i change something. But its empty. If use use your docs it works fine of course. But i like to have the blog as my main page not a subpage. Especially because of existing backlinks.
