Open Letter & Serious Question: Is this "AI" thing now a fixed decision? More importantly: Why and when was it decided it's okay to throw security under the bus for "move fast and break things"?

Given the clowning by maintainers amidst serious concerns I feel as if this the maintainers chose to burn any possibility to mitigate damage and take responsibility for the fact that KeePassXC isn't some random little tool, but a critical component of Distros like Tails (and Kali Linux) which (both) protect lives (and help protect critical infrastructure) on a daily basis.

I sincerely hope this entire "AI" stuff i just an Out Of Season April Fools Joke because if not, then for the sake of Millions of Lives at stake trusting in the integrity of Software, I feel obligated to let the maintainers of Tails know of this situation re: "AI" vibe coding putting the users' logins & credentials at 100% unnecessary & 100% avoidable risk.

It's just absurd to see this unfold and I hope that people will fork off from Version 2.7.10 instead!

Hey there. I come from position of not being enthusiastic about AI at all and I do believe the technology itself raises some ethical issues, however I've wanted to send you a message of appreciation for your work as maintainer of the project for so many years.
No one in the project deserves abusive voice like the one I've seen in OP and/or some issues and social media. The reactionary comments coming from social media sadly often forget the old netiquette of "remember the human".

While I do believe there was better way to handle the situation on part of KeePassXC team, it was unfortunate to see it turn into another Internet slap fight where merit is secondary to need of expressing one's negative opinions.

I do believe there is a good reason to have a discussion on usage of AI tools in FOSS projects, but it should not come at cost of mental health of FOSS developers. Please, accept Internet message of comfort from ultimately random creature from the Internet. ❤️

hey @droidmonkey, long standing KeePassXC user here, I think that there is huge difference in the meaning of negative and abusive.
Similar to @fluoriteByte above, I fail to see where OP is either negative or abusive here.
