~ 1,5 years since the most recent release... especially bc90bde seems like a rather important feature (to allow people to use filters without authentication).

Could you possibly consider to just do the 0.3.1? :-)
Makes it easier for distributions to pick that up.

Yes, several of our libraries are a bit neglected at the moment. I'll try to get releases on the team's radar. Thanks for raising the issue and high-value changes that are waiting to go out.

If we could get like say... Avatar updating from LDAP/Active Directory that would be stellar. Environments where Matrixy stuff integrate only with existing LDAP/Active Directory would benefit from avatars only being set/updated/changed from said LDAP/Active Directory only, so there's one place to change them for anything else interfacing with same auth systems.

@BloodyIron this is just an issue to put out a new release with the currently-merged changes. New enhancements or feature requests should go in a separate issue.
