go back button do not work

@netdcy for new mouses as i know is changed from Catalina_10.15 to send new commands: M4/M5
but for my old gaming mouse (if i remember correct it Logitech)
this is still work as Forward '@]' / Back '@['

Unfortunately, I don't quite understand what you mean.
The buttons are on the side, upper button - is back, bottom button - is forward.
I'll attach a picture example.
This is the default for everyone. I don't know too much, but from what I know, the only difference is in the commands sent by the buttons in OS, which I described above.

It's also possible that if the mouse has advanced software from the manufacturer that allows it to swap them, then it will be different, but I haven't saw that.
You can look at a viewer called ApolloOne, it has support for side-buttons.

I don't think you should worry about this, because firstly, it's macOS, that decides this commands, not the mouse. These shortcuts are defined by macOS itself, and you can't change that.
The mouse itself only sends commands, not make them, these are the same regular commands as others, like ctrl+o or ctrl+x.

So, even if this can be changed, it's only in the mouse's driver software, and it only affects which button will get which command, it only physical swap, not what actually happens with commands.
So, for example: if the top mouse button sent the command '@]', it will simply send '@['. That's all.

I suppose you were confused because you thought these commands were always random, but no, it's the same as, for example:
it doesn't matter whether the bottom key sends ctrl+x to the system or the top key; ctrl+x will always be cut for the OS, and it never become ctrl+z.
