The True Center option has been recently added to Magnifier feature, allowing to have the focus always centered on the screen even when it is on the screen edges. For this, an additional black border is added around the zoomed view.
Unfortunately, when using inverted colors, these borders become white. As a person easily dazzled by too much light, I use inverted colors (white text on dark background). But the presence of white borders defeats the goal of inverted colors...
Describe the solution you'd like
Describe alternatives you've considered
None. Just do not use True Center option, but it would be a pity.
Additional context
- The topic of color inversion and its effect on visual aid is broader than the borders True Center feature. It may also apply to focus/nav object/virtual cursor highlighters (Vision settings).
- Windows Magnifier API does not seem to allow to customize the color of these borders, so Sean has advised to look at how NVDA Visual highlighters have impleemented screen drawing.
