PHP fatal error: Allowed memory size of # bytes exhausted after pressing "create staging site"

Describe the bug:

After pressing "create staging site", if the user leaves the page without allowing this to finish, when returning to this page, there's a PHP fatal error of exhausted memory.

To reproduce

1. Go to Staging2Live
2. Press "Create staging site"
3. Leave this page
4. Go back to Staging2Live
5. Get 500 error

• This bug happens with no other plugins activated
• This bug happens with a default WordPress theme active
• I can reproduce this bug consistently using the steps above
