How to handle connection error ?

I'm building an SPA, and if I start the SPA and the WS server is not started, I would want to display a Toast or an error.
Currently, I get this in the console, but I can't seem to find a way to catch this error:
> index.js:67 WebSocket connection to 'ws://my-project.localhost/rpc/' failed
