Description
Description of the problem
Target Metric: Increase the number of classrooms using Oppia by 10%
Problem Statement:
Teachers often struggle to understand how Oppia’s lessons align with their school’s curriculum and learning standards. Without clear mapping between Oppia content and the topics they are required to teach, it is difficult for teachers to identify which lessons best support their instructional goals. This creates friction in adopting Oppia in classrooms, reduces teacher confidence in assigning lessons, and limits the platform’s potential impact on student learning. By providing tools and guidance to map Oppia content directly to curriculum objectives, we can make it easier for teachers to integrate Oppia into their lesson planning, assign the right lessons to students, and demonstrate how Oppia contributes to mandated learning outcomes.
Possible solutions / ideas for addressing the problem
Hypothesis:
If Oppia provides clear mapping between its lessons and school curriculum standards, then teachers will be more confident and efficient in assigning lessons to students, resulting in higher teacher adoption, more targeted lesson assignments, and increased student engagement with relevant content.
Guidance:
- We currently believe that this guidance could be as simple as a web page / downloadable PDF that the teacher can use as reference material.
- Work closely with Pretty to understand the needs of teachers leveraging Oppia in the classroom.
