We don't have control of when that popup appears in Nemo - it's part of the toolkit library nemo uses (gtk3). An issue with having right-click-drag is it would take away the ability to right down-click, highlight a menu item, and release the button to 'activate' it. Copy/paste auto-determination is fairly straightforward once you understand it in Linux - dragging to another location on the same drive/partition will always be a move (it's really just a rename operation), and dragging to a location on another drive will always copy. |

Hello Linux Mint team,
I switched from Windows 10 to Linux Mint after support ended, and I am really enjoying the system so far.
The only thing I still struggle to get used to is the lack of drag-and-drop functionality with the right mouse button.
In Windows, it is possible to drag files to another location using the right mouse button. When you release the button, a small context menu appears with the following options:
It would be great if this functionality could also be implemented in Nemo. Making it available as an optional setting would be totally sufficient without inconveniencing experienced users. I am aware that holding down the Alt key provides similar behavior, but I have not been able to fully adapt to this workflow yet - especially since I still use Windows on my work computer and have to switch between both systems.
I believe that many people who are transitioning from Windows to Linux Mint would appreciate this.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this, and for all the work you put into Linux Mint.
Best regards,
Pixelelster
