Panel and Settings not showing audio

Describe the bug
As of a recent (<3 weeks) update, neither the panel, nor the settings app are able to see any audio sources or sinks. This behavior persists across reboots. All devices continue to show up in pactl list, and the device I had selected prior to the update continues to work (a USB Jabra headset dongle), but I cannot change this device via the GUI.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

• Unclear how to reproduce this in general. I start up, and the audio device lists in the Panel and Sound Settings are empty

Expected behavior
A list of my audio devices appears in both the sound settings and in the sound pop up on the panel.

Have you maybe checked device profiles in Sound settings?

Device profiles is completely empty. It's as though pipewire and the frontend have stopped being able to communicate as of this update.

Having a similar issue where everytime I log in it set all of my audio devices to "OFF" making it so I have no audio
