Solari are a humanoid race that is perpetually on fire which is +the focus point of most of their mechanics. It is a race intended to be +a bit more difficult similarly to vox. Based on Novakids from starbound. + +## Background + +Solari are based upon the idea of SS13s plasma people but on fire. They heil from the suns of space and are a species of guardians that overlook and try to keep the peace among +galaxies. However, they've seen the chaos around the galaxy and have decided to help, whether people like it or not. + +## Features/Design + +The Solari are humanoid and wear the standard clothing with no noticeable features. They are visually much brighter +slime people and their unique lack of a face makes them stand out. They should visbily look like they are actively +ablaze. +## Core Visual Elements + +Solari are humanoid species that have thick outlines and lighter insides, think glowsticks. They have a symbol instead +of their face, completely lacking most facial features in favor of it. They still have hair, however it is made of the +same stuff as their bodies and is mostly used for style. They passively light up the rooms they are in with the +same color as their body. + +## Naming Convention + +Solari naming conventions are pretty flexible. Their name should contain +a reference to chemistry and or physics, words related to light work +nicely for example. + +Some examples of Solari names include: Hannah Hexafluorine, Argon John, +Luna Sol, Fred Frezon, Nancy Neutron etc. + +## Features Of The Species + + + +### Blood is fuel. +The Solari replenish blood differently to other races. Rather than using blood packs and saline, Solari instead use fuel. +When Solari eat they actively replenish their blood supply. Overtime this fuel will slowly deplenish, Solari can refuel +by eating certain items. Food > Blood > Fuel. Solari will only begin to take blood loss damage when their fuel hits 0. +Instead of taking the oxygen damage it will instead be cold damage. Their blood/fuel would be composed of a mixture of +oxygen and plasma that can be put into a centrifuged to extract these chemicals. Splashing or soaking in water should +deminish some of the solaris fuel however they can still drink it as their core is hot enough to process the liquid as +gas. + + +### On Fire! + +The Solari are constantly on fire and should have gameplay elements that reflect this. Solari would automatically light +gas fires in the rooms their in, think walking lighters. Players could interact with them whilst holding a cigarette to +light it. Their punches, instead of dealing brute would deal heat damage instead and could be used to cauterize their +wounds to prevent further blood oss which is intended to be the main killer of Solari. Solari could use their bare hands +to do really terrible welds, think cow tools only really usable in desperate times. + +### Temperature changes +Solari are hot and their temperature resistances and weakness should be different to normal humans. It'd take much +longer for them to reach a state of overheating, this could help them save other players during gas fires that they +themselves probably lit. On the opposite spectrum cold damage should be a brutal weakness to Solari. It should hurt like +hell and Solari should avoid it at all costs. + +### Hardsuits +Hardsuits/softsuits will prevent the solaris fire mechanics. This is to allow them to still be able to interact with +particularly hazardous departments without setting a gas fire or being too much of a problem. They will still need to +take off the suit to refuel, however. +
