Hello! I am part of the e-CALLISTO team at FHNW. We store, process and provide the data. We are planning a new version of it, for which we want to add part of the logic for the creation and manipulation of spectrograms to radiospectra.

As for the features, we currently use the following:

• auto_const_bg
• join_many
• rescale

At FHNW, we created functions enhancing subtract_bg and we would add them to the Spectogram class later on.

I’ve started addressing this issue by implementing GenericSpectrogram.join_many in PR #141, since it was one of the core methods still used downstream (e.g., by e-CALLISTO). The goal is to restore the most practically needed functionality first, then follow up with smaller, independent PRs for the remaining methods like rescale, in_interval, and background utilities.
Lmk If in case anything needs to be changed.

@Omiii-215 these are all related to a proposed GSOC project and will be heavily influenced by the design chose during the project so I'm not sure working on these is the best use of resources at this time.

@samaloney Thank you for addressing this, I've been recently Looking into radiospectra codebase and was focusing on GenericSpectrogram design features. I'll be Closing the PR Please do point me Out If There are some Issues If I can look into.
