would it be possible to have herbe as an alternative to libnotify?

Its less bloated with less dependencies.

Also, as an obvious libnotify would become an optional dependency. But you would need one or the other to make this app work. Thoughts?

I am not sure if herbe makes sense, since libnotify seems fine. Also alot of software uses libnotify so alot of users have it installed anyways.
