I would be fine with doing this if reduces friction, but I would keep the CI aligned with the makefile.
Maybe we should do a single make install for everything, such that you can reproduce ci locally using:
make install
make lint
PS: I typically use git worktrees to prevent this, if you haven't tried it out you might like it (I think we should allow both workflows though)

Currently with each lint syncs lock file. If I'm switching between prs it tries to update dependencies and this takes a lot of time
