Description

This repository contains a data-set describing the presence or absence of flintknapping techniques reported in the literature across archaeological assemblages. These data are incorporated into my dissertation focused on comparative studies of stone tool traditions.

Data collection for this study was funded through generous support from the Leakey Foundation, GPSA at Arizona State University, and the School of Human Evolution and Social Change, at Arizona State University.

Codebook version

This dataset was aggregated by coding published descriptions of stone tool assemblages. The codebook version used to generate this dataset was version 1.0, and is hosted here: DOI with development on github here: https://github.com/jnpaige/Procedural.unit.codebook
