Previously this class carried an in_taxon Eumetazoa constraint, but this was removed because the constraint caused downstream taxon constraint violations (e.g. for plant annotations to GO terms whose logical definitions reference this class - see https://github.com/obophenotype/uberon/issues/3694 and https://github.com/geneontology/go-ontology/issues/30555). Plant cuticle is represented separately in the Plant Ontology (PO). Clade-specific subclasses (e.g. chitin-based cuticle, nematode cuticle) carry their own taxon constraints and should be used in preference to this grouping class wherever possible.
