Here is one way to share files with macOS.
NOTE: The netatalk is not available for Jessie, it is only available in Stretch.
On the EV3:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install netatalk
On your Mac:
- Open Finder
- Open Preferences (⌘+,)
- Select the Sidebar page
- Under Shared, make sure Bonjour computers is checked
- Close the Preferences window
- Your EV3 will show up as
ev3devunder Shared (if you changed the hostname of the EV3, the name will be different) - Click on
ev3dev - Click the Connect As... button at the top right
- Enter your user name and password for the EV3 (
robotandmakerif you did not change the defaults) - Finder will now show a Home Directory folder - this is the same as
/home/robot/on the EV3 - Double-click Home Directory to open it
- You can now browse and edit files on your EV3 remotely
Notes:
- This will take up a substantial amount of memory on your EV3
- You can use
systemctlto control the service, for example, sudo systemctl disable netatalkwill prevent it from running on boot andsudo systemctl enable netatalkwill enable it again
