https://videos.maprando.com/video/9455 - double suit
https://videos.maprando.com/video/9456 - only grav

I didn't add the only grav option, it could be added but not sure on how to count the heatframes.

this spikesuit also requires tanking an extra spikehit after obtaining the suit as there spikes above / to the left of you

From the video, youre taking 1 damage per 4 frames before entering the lava, 1 per 2 frames after.
You enter the room at 999, lava at 953
3 spike hits each dealing 30 (note that you took 3 hits, not 2 in this video)
14 frames from sparking
and you land at node 4 at about 666

So, if the video was good, other than taking an extra spike hit, I would say you end at node 4 and take ...
366 lava frames, (953-666-3*30-14)*2
550 heat frames, (999-953)*4 plus the 366 you were in the lava
14 spark frames with 0 excess

Though, you might prefer to end at node 5.

this leniency won't take into account having to reset the room. I guess that might be a recurring problem though

Since this might have to be done first try, it probably needs a higher tech requirement? In etecoon etank we put canBeVeryPatient for the one that falls through the crumbles with a shinecharge.

I put canTrickySpikesuit on it...

Yeah it's good to have that but I'm not sure it's enough? If i remember canTrickySpikesuit is targeting caes like Noob Bridge, where the attempts are somewhat awkward and may take some time to retry. So canTrickySpikesuit is planned to go into Extreme+. Getting a spikesuit first try is harder, like Insane level

I see. maybe time to break out canRiskySpikeSuit? [spikesuits that if failed result in softlock / reset]? Theres only this one, etecoons from top and ln fireflees i can think of

canRiskySpikeSuit sounds reasonable. Better than abusing canBeVeryPatient

It's worth noting that you can get back up damageless with heatproof+lavaproof+gravity+(space or hijump+springwall) with those options it might just use the normal leniency + patient spike suit?

yeah... i'll work out some heatframes and an or / two strats for having the stuff to escape.

Currently I don't think we have a good way to represent per-attempt heatframes, so it may make sense to keep assuming heatProof + lavaProof for the retryable case (with a devNote/FIXME to potentially relax that later)? Heat/lava frames could be used for the first-try variant.

  • I think this should require all of heatProof, lavaProof, and Gravity. I don't see lavaProof representing the mobility part of Gravity and that is required
  • If we really want, you can turn around to touch the spike and spikesuit facing right, then turn off speed and diagonal spark to avoid a spike.
  • The second spike should be after the shinespark
